Paul A. Ruedi
Chief Executive Officer

Contact Paul

Paul Ruedi

Paul has over 27 years of financial planning experience. He began his career as a financial representative with a large, national planning company. In 1984, at the age of 26, he formed his own brokerage firm. He has often commented that being in retail investments, early in his career, opened his eyes to the fact that retail investment products are fraught with conflicts of interest. These conflicts come with the sale of commission-based investment products which are not always in the best interest of the client. Paul sold his original firm in 1986. Paul was also one of the first financial advisors to adopt a fee-only method of compensation for his practice.

Paul founded Strategic Capital Management, Inc., a Investment Advisory firm in 1987. The firm was located in Champaign, Illinois. Under Paul’s leadership, the firm became Strategic Capital Trust Company. And in 1998 Paul, along with other associates, formed the holding company, Strategic Capital Bancorp, Inc. which established and owned a private, state chartered bank also in Champaign.

When Strategic Capital Bancorp was sold in 2003 to an investor group headquartered in Chicago, Paul remained with Strategic Capital Trust Company where he served as its CEO. In 2009, Paul and his colleague from the Trust Company, Dan Holder, established Ruedi Holder & Associates.

For the past 18 years, Paul has been the host of “On the Money” a radio talk show featured on the largest radio station in Champaign County. He is also a sought after speaker for groups and organizations covering topics about financial planning and investment theory.

Paul and his wife Cindy have four children.
